Nowadays, only tourism plays an important role in the area of Uslar (Uslarer Land). There is also the Privatbrauerei Haffner, which brews the Bergbräu family of beers, bottled in pop-top bottles much like Schleswig-Holstein's Flensburger beer and Holland's Grolsch.
