Steinen () is a municipality in Schwyz District in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland.

Steinen has an area, , of 11.9 km2. Of this area, 52.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 22.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 10.5% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (14.6%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

It is located between Rossberg and Lake Lauerz.
