on advice of the prime minister The British ambassador to Georgia is the United Kingdom's foremost diplomatic representative in Georgia, and head of the UK's diplomatic mission in Tbilisi. The official title is His Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to Georgia.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom renewed diplomatic relations with Georgia and the then British ambassador to Russia, Sir Brian Fall, was also accredited to Georgia until the new embassy in Tbilisi was opened in 1995.
