: (1) carboxynorspermidine + H2O + NADP+ \rightleftharpoons L-aspartate 4-semialdehyde + propane-1,3-diamine + NADPH + H+ : (2) carboxyspermidine + H2O + NADP+ \rightleftharpoons L-aspartate 4-semialdehyde + putrescine + NADPH + H+
The reaction takes place in the opposite direction.
