The 2020 United States census reported that Bluewater had a population of 116. The population density was 110.8 PD/sqmi. The racial makeup of Bluewater was 97 (83.6%) White, 0 (0.0%) African American, 4 (3.4%) Native American, 0 (0.0%) Asian, 0 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 6 (5.2%) from other races, and 9 (7.8%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10 persons (8.6%)

The whole population lived in households. There were 67 households, out of which 9 (13.4%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 28 (41.8%) were married-couple households, 3 (4.5%) were cohabiting couple households, 18 (26.9%) had a female householder with no partner present, and 18 (26.9%) had a male householder with no partner present. 28 households (41.8%) were one person, and 14 (20.9%) were one person aged 65 or older.
