Banna, officially the Municipality of Banna (; ), is a municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the , it has a population of people.

History

The word Banna was taken from the native chieftain named Bana. It was formerly known as Espiritu. The name changed under Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Resolution No. 120–95 on March 20, 1995; ratified on March 10, 1996.

Geography

Banna is situated 33.75 km from the provincial capital Laoag, and 472.72 km from the country's capital city of Manila.

Banna is part of the second congressional district of the province of Ilocos Norte. It is governed by a mayor designated as its local chief executive and by a municipal council as its legislative body in accordance with the Local Government Code.
