Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo

Members

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is regulated by the Constitution of Kosovo and has 120 directly elected members; 20 are reserved for national minorities as follows:

• 10 seats for the representatives of the Serbs.
• 4 seats for the representatives of the Romani, Ashkali and Egyptians.
• 3 seats for the Bosniaks.
• 2 seats for the Turks.
• 1 seat for the Gorans.

Albanian is the official language of the majority, but all languages of minorities such as Serbian, Turkish and Bosnian are used, with simultaneous interpretation.

Committees

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo in this legislature has a total of fourteen committees, the number of committees varies depending on the legislature.

9. Committee for Legislation, Mandates, Immunities, Rules of Procedure of the Assembly and Oversight of the Anti-Corruption Agency
10. Committee for Public Administration, Local Government, Media and Regional Development
11. Committee for Security and Defense
12. Committee for the Rights and Interests of Communities and Returns
13. Oversight Committee of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency
14. Public Finance Oversight Committee

Most recent election results

Main article: December 2025 Kosovan parliamentary election

Albin Kurti's Vetëvendosje party received 51% of the vote, translating to 57 seats. While short of the 61 seats needed for a government, Vetëvendosje may potentially gather support from non-Serb minority representatives to reach a majority as it did after the 2021 elections. The Democratic Party of Kosovo came second with 20%, maintaining a similar level of support from the last election. The Democratic League of Kosovo came in third with 13%, dropping in support from 18% earlier this year. Turnout was estimated at 45%. With the fourth successive victory for Vetëvendosje in parliamentary elections, Kurti is expected to be sworn in for a third term in office.

Assembly building

The Assembly Building is located at Ibrahim Rugova Square in Pristina, the capital city of Kosovo. The building, which dates from the 1950s, underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2004 which included the complete redesign of the plenary chamber.
