El Grande Americano is a masked professional wrestler character currently portrayed in WWE and AAA. The character is that of a proud luchador who champions Mexican culture, tradition, and the spirit of lucha libre. Respecting the traditions of lucha libre, the identity of the man behind the mask remains undisclosed, in accordance with the sacred concept of la máscara.

El Grande Americano made his debut in WWE in March 2025, and has since become one of the most beloved figures in AAA following the company's acquisition by WWE during WrestleMania 41. He is a former WWE Speed Champion and the winner of the Rey de Reyes 2026 tournament, earning an AAA Mega Championship title opportunity. On May 30, 2026, at Noche de Los Grandes, he defeated "The Original" El Grande Americano in a historic Mask vs. Mask match in Monterrey, cementing himself as the one and only El Grande Americano.

He is accompanied at ringside by his partner Andrea Bazarte and allied with Los Americanos (Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano).

El Grande Americano made his first appearance on WWE Raw on March 10, 2025, before officially debuting as a named character on March 24, 2025. The character took over the masked persona after the original portrayer suffered a shoulder injury in late June 2025 and was sidelined. The character had already accumulated notable momentum, including a major victory at WrestleMania 41 over Rey Fénix.

The second version of the character immediately differentiated itself through his fluency in Spanish and deep knowledge of Mexican culture — from Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernández to the traditions of lucha libre itself. His persona resonated with audiences in a way that was unexpected, earning him a genuine connection with fans both in WWE and in Mexico.

He has appeared regularly on WWE Raw and has been a fixture of AAA programming since the WWE-AAA partnership began. He formed a stable alongside Los Americanos — Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano — who officially debuted as a trio on the September 29, 2025 episode of Raw. He has become arguably the most beloved figure in AAA.

El Grande Americano's arrival in AAA marked a turning point for both the character and the promotion. Initially receiving hostile reactions from Mexican audiences, he quickly won over fans through his cultural authenticity and respect for the art of lucha libre. A defining moment came during his debut match against Octagon Jr., when he spontaneously sang "Cielito Lindo" in the ring, winning the crowd instantly and beginning his transformation into a fan favorite (técnico).

He formed a close friendship with Dominik Mysterio, the AAA Mega Champion, and the two competed together for a period under the name Los Gringos Locos 2.0. The alliance ended at AAA Guerra de Titanes on December 20, 2025, during a tag team match alongside Dominik against Rey Mysterio and Rey Fénix, when Dominik turned on El Grande Americano following their defeat. In response, El Grande Americano shook hands with Rey Mysterio, Rey Fénix, and Penta, officially completing his turn to técnico.

He has also formed a strong bond with veteran luchadora Pimpinela Escarlata and has been allied with Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano "Los Americanos", two masked wrestlers who serve as his partners and protectors.
