2026 Miami Grand Prix

The 2026 Miami Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix 2026) is a Formula One motor race that will be held on May 3, 2026, at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. It will be the fourth round of the 2026 Formula One World Championship and the second of six Grands Prix in the season to utilise the sprint format. Lando Norris (McLaren) converted pole position for the sprint event to a victory ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), while Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) took pole position for the Grand Prix.

The event will be held at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida, for the fifth time in the circuit's history, across the weekend of May 1–3. The Grand Prix will be the fourth round of the 2026 Formula One World Championship and the fifth running of the Miami Grand Prix. It will also be the second of six Grands Prix in the season to utilise the sprint format and the third time overall that the Miami Grand Prix has featured it.

The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, which were scheduled to immediately precede the Miami Grand Prix, were cancelled due to the Iran war. The resulting break in the season was used to introduce changes to the technical regulations, especially regarding the power unit.

Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, who won the previous round in Suzuka, enters the round as the leader of the Drivers' Championship. Holding 72 points, Antonelli leads his teammate George Russell by nine points, and third-placed Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) by a further fourteen. Mercedes enters the round as the leader of the Constructors' Championship. Holding 135 points, they lead Ferrari by 45 points, and third-placed McLaren by a further 45 points.

The drivers and teams were the same as the season entry list with no additional stand-in drivers for the race.

Tyre supplier Pirelli brought the C3, C4, and C5 tyre compounds (the three softest in their range) for teams to use at the event.

The sole free practice session was held on May 1, 2026, at 12:00 local time (UTC–4), and was topped by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren). The session was extended from 60 to 90 minutes after rule changes were implemented during the April break.

Sprint qualifying was held on May 1, 2026, at 16:30 local time (UTC–4), and determined the starting grid order for the sprint.

The race will be held on May 3, 2026, at 13:00 local time (UTC–4), and will be run for 57 laps. It was originally set to start at 16:00, but was pushed up three hours earlier due to the threat of heavy rain.
